Iconic 'Indiana Jones' Disney Ride Closing Down Indefinitely - Inside the Magic

It’s about time . Everytime I’m on it it breaks down. It will be great to see everything working aga8n after it’d long refurbishment

Hear hear! My last visit it broke while I was on it and had to wait 30 minutes before they walked us off. Many of the anamotronics and light effects don’t work. You’re lucky to get a boulder drop. Take all the time needed and fix it properly.

Agreed! Adventureland is going to feel anemic with Indiana Jones and a Treehouse down ….. but both need that TLC which has been lacking (take all the time needed just don’t be cheap when it comes to fixing).

They’re going to remove Indiana Jones and since they’re killing him off and replacing him a woman so they are going to change the ride to reflect this

It already shows this as closed for refurbishment the week of November 14 on the Disneyland website when you look for the hours of operation.

My family won a contest to open the Disneyland Indiana Jones ride in 1995. My husband and I were newly weds, and my step-daughter was 5. My sister came along on that trip. Our last name was Jones, and we were from Indiana. We got to ride a huge float down Main Street.

That was the only time we have been to Disneyland. My step-daughter is 33 and has three kids of her own and two additional from her husband. My husband and I have two girls who have never been to Disneyland. So hopefully this ride can be refurbished so we might be able to visit in the future.

We were in the Parade of Joneses, and there was a little skit to the whole thing. Disney was supposed to send us some video of the parade…but never got to see it. They did send press kits to our local paper, and we made it on the front page! That was very cool! We had just a short weekend in Disney, but it was so much fun!

Will choose to take this as a good sign. This ride has been a pale shadow of itself since it first opened. Like others I’ve experienced a major breakdown and had to be walked out of the middle of the ride, but worse than how often it apparently breaks down is how much they have changed it over the years.

The sound throughout anymore is a cacophony that obliterates any and all storytelling or delineation of the different areas as you move through the ride as it once existed. They have sped it up so much to mitigate wait times that the experience is a whiplashing mess that allows you to see or experience virtually nothing.

It’s similar to if they put 90 hp motors on the Pirates of the Caribbean boats and played all of the sound and music cues of that ride simultaneously in every “room” past distortion. I love loud, but it has become a horrible mess with any and all environmental/story/location information utterly destroyed, made worse by the speed ramping

Agreed! I’m a bassist in a rock band and even by my standards the sound in that ride is too loud. It needs serious help. Hoping they take at least 6 months to get everything including the snake, collapsing bridge, rat crossing and boulder working again.

This bride needs to close every few years so they can get all those working parts throughout the the queue and during the ride to work. Hopefully they update all the stuff with newer technology to where they don’t have to refurbish as often

With Indy 5 coming out next year, are they going to replace that toxic masculine man Indiana Jones with the more politically correct Indianna Joann?

Oh look! the first Donald Dumptard MAGAT has entered the chat to begin his sad little attempt at troIIing!

Indy should be replaced with a woman, or atleast make him transition into one. I cant define what a woman is but this should be a requirement for diversity and inclusion.

Lol, go inhale some more of your Orange-Glow God, Donnie Dump’s farts. Clearly, you’ve been inhaling heavily.

Thats not very inclusive of you, and please refer to me and she/they/zee/zeem because I dont want my feelings to get hurt on this Indiana Jones article. :,(

Conservatives have two jokes and both of them are unfunny.

No thanks. Indiana Jones is a man. No changing that no matter how bad you want to, doesn’t work like that. Just be happy to be alive and accept what you were born as.

What the hell is wrong with you?

His name is “Pocho Villa”…lol…that’s what is wrong!!!

I’m all for refurbishment. Hope it can be finished, by the time of our Christmas trip. One of my favorite rides! Praying 🙏

Won’t be done by Christmas. Guaranteed.

Well, I’m all for refurbishment, but our trip is for Christmas…one of my favorite rides. Praying it wii be ready!!!

I had the honor to ride it when it first opened, it broke down on us back then too 🤣

bummed it’s closing because im going in November. Met a exgf in that que. Unfortunate, since it’ll be my last time at Disneyland. Good for the ride being fixed though. 3rd favorite ride at DL

Great…You just HAD to close it, didn’tcha?

Excellent news! The attraction has a lot of issues.

Haha!! In 1995 as an 11 year old I went on this ride during a Halloween Fun Night!! Was the most amazing night!! Only thing was my seatbelt failed and when the car drops with the boulder rolling towards you mum had to hold me down while I stayed in the air!! Got to the end of the ride and complained.. pretty sure they shut the ride for the rest of the night and I was stoked as I lived to tell the tale and was given an extra treat bag to get more Halloween lollies. As an Aussie kid this was the BEST Halloween experience ever!!

It’s about damn time. That ride had at least six features broken the last time I rode it. It’s a disaster

HAPPY to hear this. as for all the POS’s changing topic grow TF up you look like pathetic pukes.

Out and proud ‘never been to a Disney-theme-parker’ here, have managed to keep away 35 years and counting…inexplicably am alive, happy and healthy anyway. What I’m curious about is how what sounds like a solenoid & pneumatic air powered…..’experience’, whathaveyou…ever earned the vaunted ‘iconic’ rating in the first place. I know, people have been claiming the word is overused ever since that viral sensation dumpster diver millionaire claimed to have found an ‘iconic’ half eaten pizza 16 years ago in one of history’s first online videos, but this seems to REALLY cheapen and dilute the word’s impact unfairly.

I have never been to Disneyland California but hey it belongs in a museum and why would they close it down? Indiana Jones five is coming out in June 2023.

First off, Indiana Jones ride is based on a set of films with the actor Harrison Ford. You can’t change facts unless you wish to create your own story and your own ride.

My family was just there last week and my sister and I went on that ride twice. Everything was fine. The Haunted Mansion’ doom buggies broke down more often while we were there. Things break. Disneyland is great at fixing and giving lightning passes if they won’t be fixed soon.

I’m a little saddened by it, due to I will be going to Disneyland beginning of December. And I love that ride. I totally understand why it’s closing down though, It does have alot of problems constantly breaking down.. so hopefully it will work alot smoother in the coming days!

Disney’s everything and anything is now filled with an evil agenda.. NO person should be going to ANY disney park .. .Or buying ANY disney merch.. ever again .. pedos. And their pedo pushers….No person with any morals who care about children should have anything to do with disney .. fel sad for the employees that work and slave for this now – evil company .. suggest to find somewhere not evil or at least less evil to work at. Good Luck🙏🍀💢🙏🌝⚖️🛡️🔮🔎📖🔍🔮

Hi! Andrew is a liar, everyone. The attraction is only going down for refurbishment.
