Catch up on our blog for all the latest updates on the general ticket sale for Sam Fender's Newcastle shows

Tickets went on sale today for Sam Fender's two huge stadium shows in Newcastle. The North Shields singer will play two nights at St. James' Park next year on June 9 and 10, 2023.

It will be the first time a Geordie singer has headlined a show at Newcastle United's ground. General sale tickets were available to buy from 10am today (September 9) via Ticketmaster and See Tickets for both 2023 dates. Both shows have now sold out though.

At one point more than 100,000 people joined the Ticketmaster queue for the June 9 2023 show. Many fans still queued in the online waiting rooms on Ticketmaster too, despite the ticketing site stating that both shows had sold out.

Some Sam Fender lovers slammed See Tickets for their ticketing system, with one fan calling their booking page 'horrific'. The demand today for the general sale has been extremely high and it seems that only a lucky few have snapped up tickets for the shows next year.

Earlier this week, The Seventeen Going Under singer was forced to add an extra date, June 10, following major demand during the pre-sale launch of the June 9 show. Fans who had signed up to Fender's subscriber's list were given a special link for pre-sale access on Wednesday (September 7), those who also had O2 Priority were able to get pre-sale tickets.

Now, fans are calling on Sam to add a third date to St. James' Park. Prices for the shows have ranged from £33 to £63.25 for standing, seated and coach allocation.

We've not heard anything yet as to whether Sam Fender will announce a third date at St James' Park.

But watch this space for potential updates.

This Sam Fender fan page has suggested the following

I would also recommend looking back on Ticketmaster and See Tickets as early as next week as they have their own reselling pages.

I would only go to 'trusted' reselling sites too, so the likes of the official one's on Ticketmaster and See Tickets.

Another fan has expressed their disapointment over not being able to get tickets today.

The fan, who does not wish to be named, said:

Gutted didn't get tickets after trying on Wednesday presale and today! Didn't realise you could queue before 10am with Ticketmaster so when joining at 10am we were 77,000 in the queue.

I could get tickets with Viagogo if we could afford to pay £375 per seated ticket or over £800 for standing, disgusting! Why is this allowed to happen? The system is so wrong!

Faye Revely said she was in the Ticketmaster waiting room for 15 minutes before the tickets went live. She said:

I dropped into the queue at 40k + ahead of me. So frustrating to see that tickets are on sale already on Viagogo at £885.

See tickets I got through to the booking page with tickets available but no matter what type of ticket I clicked on it said they couldn’t allocate them to me. So, so frustrating!

See tickets was horrific, I think it needs raising that their systems aren’t sophisticated enough to handle demand of this magnitude."

No tickets are showing as available for either dates on See Tickets.

There's still 16,000+ people queuing in the June 9 2023 date on Ticketmaster. Despite the message that there are no more tickets left.

Will Sam Fender add another date?

That's the question on every fan's mind right now. Following Ticketmaster's message and See Tickets pages reporting that their sites are 'busy' it begs the question, will Sam add another date to St. James' Park?

Demand has been incredible, I've not seen online queues like this since Coldplay, and even then the majority of fans managed to get tickets.

I've just been sent this screenshot which states that Ticketmaster are warning queuers that there are no more tickets available for either date.

These are the ticket types and prices for the shows. The seated tickets actually start out cheaper than the one's for sale during the pre-sale launch on Wednesday (£33).

It's also nice to see that the ticket and coach bundle costs the same price as a standing ticket, allowing fans to experience the show for the same price from afar.

Obviously prices will be more for hotel packages.

For me, See Tickets has proven to be the worst experience out of the two today for buying tickets.

Their ticket pages are just permantely on "our website is very busy" page. There is no indiciation of how many people are in the queue or whether there are any tickets left.

Ticketmaster doesn't tell you if there are tickets left either but at least you have an idea of how many people are in front of you trying to get tickets.

I've just got through to the June 10 show on Ticketmaster. But it's not good.

Out of these below options, there are none that are showing as available.

It may be worth staying on the page for the full allocation time slot (usually 10 minutes) to see if any become available. So keep clicking on find tickets. Don't refresh the page during this time though.

Okay, I'm nearing the front of the queue for the Saturday showing via Ticketmaster.

Has anyone got through the queues yet? Drop a comment below or tweet me.

I'm seeing some of your tweets already, well done to fans who have managed to secure tickets already this morning. Fair play to you!

In the last ten minutes the Ticketmaster queue for the June 9 showing has barely moved. I'm looking at 34,000+ whereas the June 10 showing is showing 7,294 people.

This could either mean that more people want the June 9 showing, or tickets for the Saturday have already sold out and that's why there's hardly a queue. It's the unknown I hate!

I'm not looking forward to seeing what is left after these queues, that's if I even get into to buy any.

See Tickets are reporting that their websites are very busy.

I'm getting the below message at the moment.

From my end, it seems more people are trying to get tickets for the June 9 show so I would maybe try the June 10 showing.

Ticketmaster queues are moving but very slowly.

More than 41,000 people are currently in the Ticketmaster queue for the June 9, 2023 show.

While there is around 13,634 people in the Ticketmaster queue for the June 10 date.

General sale tickets for Sam Fender's St. James' Park, Newcastle shows are now available to buy via Ticketmaster and See Tickets.

There's just 15 minutes to go until tickets go on sale. Have you followed my steps in the previous post?

There's only one thing to do now...wait and enjoy the below. Good luck!
