Virgin Voyages plans to double sales team

Virgin Voyages has announced plans to double the size of its sales team next year.

The line will increase its sales team from eight to 16 ahead of the delivery of its two new ships, Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady, which are set to debut from May 2023.

“The biggest reason for doing this now is that we have so many agents reaching out to us and we want to have enough people available to service that demand,” said Shane Riley, vice president of international sales.

“Now we have cemented ourselves in the market, people want to work with us. There has definitely been a significant change in the last few years now people know who we are.

“Agents are beginning to understand there is a place for Virgin Voyages in their portfolio.”

Riley added that he wanted the new roles to bring people who had previously worked in travel back into the industry.

“The UK market is huge and we want the right people,” he said. “We have two ships launching next year so it is important to provide more specialism in the team, have more field-based people and more account managers so each can have fewer accounts and, therefore, more time focusing on each one.”
