The build quality of the Tata Nexon has been appreciated widely across the industry but the same could not be said about the Hyundai Santro. Nonetheless, this incident shows just how tough the latter could be in real-world conditions. Note that the latest-gen Santro (now discontinued) boasts a 2-star safety rating at the GNCAP, but the model in this video is the previous-gen version which was never crash-tested. This video clip has been uploaded by Nikhil Rana on YouTube. He posts such content regularly in a bid to raise awareness among Indian car buyers regarding the value of buying cars with high safety ratings. This particular instance has been reported from Haldia, West Bengal. As per the information in the video, the Santro was parked on the side of a narrow road. The Nexon was being driven at around 50 km/h, which is a bit high for such roads. Due to reasons best known to the driver, the Nexon ends up hitting the Santro from the front.

The damages are clearly seen in the visuals. The front right sides of both vehicles have suffered deformation. The Santro was shoved back on the pavement due to the force and the headlight, bumper, fender, bonnet, etc. have been destroyed. On the other hand, Nexon also suffered almost similar damages. The fender, wheel, bumper, bonnet, link rod, etc. have been impacted. In fact, the video mentions that the Nexon was not able to move after the collision. No one was in the Santro, while the passengers in Nexon escaped unscathed.

Just like most accidents on our roads, the reason behind this was overspeeding too. We have been saying this for the longest time that we must prevent overspeeding at all costs.
